Supreme Court Dismisses Maran's ₹1,323 Crore Damages Plea Against SpiceJet
The Supreme Court has decided not to let Kalanithi Maran get ₹1,323 crore from SpiceJet.
Maran and his company, KAL Airways, were upset because a lower court said no to their money claim.
They tried to appeal, but the court said they waited too long to file their papers.
Years ago, Maran sold his stake in SpiceJet and later wanted money back for unissued shares.
An earlier decision said SpiceJet had to pay back some money, but now that part is on hold.
So, the Supreme Court agreed with the lower courts, and Maran won't be getting the money he wanted.
Supreme Court dismissed Kalanithi Maran's plea seeking ₹1,323 crore in damages from SpiceJet.
Maran and KAL Airways challenged a Delhi High Court order that rejected their claim.
The Delhi High Court dismissed their appeals due to delays in filing.
An arbitration panel initially rejected Maran's claim but ordered a refund with interest.
SpiceJet challenged a ruling before a division bench, which granted relief by remanding the case.
