Assam’s New Hydrocarbon Policy Targets Exploration and Investment

Assam’s New Hydrocarbon Policy Targets Exploration and Investment

Assam has introduced a new policy for finding and producing oil and natural gas.

The policy is meant to make it easier for companies to work in the state.

It will simplify approvals and reduce some delays.

It also encourages companies to use newer exploration technology.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said this could help India produce more energy at home.

The policy may also bring investment and create jobs for people in Assam.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Assam wants to keep improving its petroleum industry.

The policy will last for 10 years unless the state changes or ends it earlier.
