UP Achieves 100% Institutional Deliveries in 16 Districts
In Uttar Pradesh, India, the government has achieved a big goal.
For the past three months, all baby deliveries in 16 districts happened in hospitals or clinics, not at home.
This means mothers and babies are safer.
The government worked hard to make sure hospitals have good equipment, doctors, and nurses.
They also taught people about the importance of hospital deliveries.
Special workers called ASHA, ANM, and Anganwadi workers helped by visiting homes and making sure pregnant women went to the hospital on time.
This effort is expected to reduce the number of mothers and babies who get sick or die during childbirth.
16 districts in Uttar Pradesh achieved 100% institutional deliveries from April to June 2024.
No home or non-institutional deliveries were recorded in these districts during this period.
The success is attributed to improved healthcare access, public awareness, and coordinated efforts by health workers.
Hospitals were strengthened with better equipment, trained staff, and improved referral systems.
ASHA, ANM, and Anganwadi workers played a crucial role in ensuring timely hospital deliveries.
