Mumbai Court Jails Director for ₹1 Crore Loan Fraud in 2008 Vijaya Bank Case

Mumbai Court Jails Director for ₹1 Crore Loan Fraud in 2008 Vijaya Bank Case

Imagine a company wanted to borrow a lot of money from a bank.

The company director, Anitha, and a bank manager, Shridhar, were accused of tricking the bank, Vijaya Bank, into giving them more money than they should have.

They were also accused of not following the rules when getting the loan.

Even though Anitha said she didn't do anything wrong, the judge decided she was too involved in the company's decisions.

The bank manager, Shridhar, also tried to defend himself, but the judge said he was part of the plan.

Another person, Mahesh, who worked at a different bank, was found not guilty because there wasn't enough proof.

Sadly, Anitha's husband, who was also a key person in the company, passed away, so his case was closed.

Anitha was sentenced to three years in jail and fined a lot of money, while the bank manager got a shorter sentence and a smaller fine.
