Muslims Serve Food and Water During Hyderabad Ganesha Immersion

Muslim volunteers gave free food and water to people attending a Ganesha immersion procession in Hyderabad.

They set up stalls near the Charminar.

Thousands of visitors came through the area.

The food included rice dishes, puri saag and coconut sweets.

The volunteers continued serving people until the last idol passed by.

Many shops were closed, so the free food and water helped visitors.

Mohammed Ghouse has helped organize this effort since 2002.

The organizers said they want to show friendship between Muslims and Hindus.

They plan to continue the tradition every year.
