Maharashtra Cabinet Approves Tax Breaks for Key Projects
The Maharashtra government is giving tax breaks to help some big projects.
They're reducing stamp duty (a kind of tax) for the Dharavi redevelopment project, which is a partnership with Adani.
This should make things cheaper and faster.
Also, a similar break was approved for a new township project near Mumbai, and the government gave a full tax waiver for land for a law university.
Maharashtra approved stamp duty concessions for lease agreements for the Dharavi Redevelopment Project.
The Dharavi Redevelopment Project is a joint venture between Adani Properties Pvt Ltd and the Slum Rehabilitation Authority.
The stamp duty relief aims to lower transaction costs and accelerate construction.
A 50% stamp duty concession was approved for a joint venture between MMRDA and Raigad Pen Growth Centre Ltd.
