Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Opens 9-Km Stretch for Traffic Trials
A new part of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is being tested by drivers.
It connects the Sarai Kale Khan and DND Flyway area with Faridabad.
The road can eventually help people travelling toward Jaipur.
Most of the new section is built above the ground.
Officials are testing how safely traffic moves before opening it fully.
They hope it will reduce traffic on Mathura Road and near Kalindi Kunj.
For now, only drivers going toward Faridabad and beyond are being directed onto it.
Drivers must travel at no more than 40 kmph during the trial.
A nearly 9-km Delhi section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has opened to traffic on a trial basis.
The trial currently operates on the carriageway from Sarai Kale Khan and the DND Flyway towards Faridabad via Jaitpur and Meethapur.
About 7.5 km of the stretch is elevated, while the remainder includes a 140-metre structure over the Agra Canal.
Officials expect the corridor to reduce congestion on Mathura Road and possibly ease traffic at Kalindi Kunj.
The trial is expected to last about a month, with motorists currently limited to 40 kmph and Delhi entry-exit points closed.
