HBO Expands Harry Potter Season Two Cast With Dobby, Ginny
HBO is making a new television series based on the Harry Potter books.
The show has chosen three actors for important roles in its second season.
Lenny Rush will play or voice Dobby, a house-elf.
Bonnie Hill will play Ginny Weasley, replacing Gracie Cochrane.
Billy Barratt will play the young Tom Riddle.
The second season will tell the story from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
HBO has started preparing that season at Leavesden Studios in the United Kingdom.
The first season will show Harry discovering magic and attending Hogwarts.
It is scheduled to arrive on December 25, 2026, while Season 2 does not have a release date yet.
Lenny Rush, Bonnie Hill, and Billy Barratt join Season 2 as Dobby, Ginny Weasley, and Tom Riddle.
Season 2 will adapt Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and is in pre-production at Leavesden Studios.
Hill replaces Gracie Cochrane as Ginny after Cochrane left the series because of unforeseen circumstances.
Rush is announced as Dobby’s performer, but HBO has not explained whether the character will use voice acting, motion capture, or another technique.
