Central Railway Expands Automobile Freight Network
Central Railway has started loading cars onto trains from two new places called Bhigwan and Bhusaval.
This is a big deal because it helps move more cars by train, which is good for the environment and makes money for the railway.
The first train from Bhigwan carried 100 cars to Assam and made about Rs 21 lakh.
The first train from Bhusaval carried 100 cars to Karnataka and made about Rs 14.82 lakh.
The railway is doing this to get ready for a big event called Simhastha Kumbh Mela in Nashik in 2027 and to make rail transport better for moving goods.
Central Railway began automobile loading from Bhigwan and Bhusaval to expand rail-based logistics.
First loading from Bhigwan on July 19 carried 100 vehicles to Assam, earning Rs 21 lakh.
First loading from Bhusaval on July 24 carried 100 vehicles to Karnataka, earning Rs 14.82 lakh.
The initiative aims to prepare for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela in Nashik in 2027.
Central Railway seeks to diversify freight business and increase market share through better infrastructure and services.
