Rajasthan Police Bust Decades-Old Extortion Syndicate Targeting Bus Conductors
Police in Rajasthan have caught a group of people who were doing something bad for a long time.
This group was making bus conductors pay them money so they wouldn't get in trouble for not giving tickets to passengers.
The police found out about this group after someone told them, and they even recorded the bad guys taking money.
The police arrested eight people, including the leader, and found a lot of money and other things that belonged to the group.
The group had been doing this for many years and made a lot of money by making bus conductors pay them.
The police are still looking into how much money the group made and if there are more people involved.
Rajasthan Police dismantled a decades-old extortion syndicate targeting bus conductors, arresting eight members including the leader, Narendra Singh Rajawat.
The gang, known as the 'STD Gang', extorted money from conductors by facilitating ticketless travel and providing protection from vigilance checks.
Police conducted a sting operation capturing the exchange of money and seized cash, vehicles, electronic devices, and various documents.
The syndicate operated across 12 districts, causing significant revenue loss to the state transport corporation, with extortion amounts ranging from Rs 50 to Rs 2,500.
