Assam Assembly Addresses Irrigation and Health Staff Shortages
On the fourth day of the Assam Legislative Assembly session, MLAs discussed two big problems: not enough water for farms in Majuli and Upper Assam, and not enough staff in rural hospitals.
Farmers in Majuli said they need better water systems to grow more crops.
The government agreed it's a big problem and said they have a plan to help more farms get water.
They also talked about hospitals in the countryside that don't have enough doctors and nurses.
The government said they know about the problem and will try to hire more staff soon.
Some MLAs were upset that the ministers in charge of water and health weren't there to talk about these important issues.
Irrigation challenges in Majuli and Upper Assam were discussed in the Assam Legislative Assembly.
Farmers in Majuli face low productivity due to inadequate irrigation facilities.
The government acknowledged the issue and announced a three-year irrigation scheme for Majuli.
Health staff shortages at rural healthcare facilities were highlighted by Opposition MLAs.
The government promised to address the staffing crisis in the health sector within a month.
