DRDO to showcase hypersonic missile at Republic Day parade
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will show off a new super-fast missile called the LR-AShM during the Republic Day parade in New Delhi.
This missile is special because it can fly really fast, up to 10 times the speed of sound, and can hit moving targets.
It's hard for enemies to detect because it flies low and fast.
The missile uses its own power to reach high speeds and then glides to hit its target.
The DRDO will also display a tableau at the Red Fort from January 26 to 31, showing other technologies for submarines.
These technologies help the Indian Navy be stronger in the water.
DRDO will showcase the LR-AShM hypersonic missile during the 77th Republic Day parade in New Delhi.
The LR-AShM is a hypersonic glide missile capable of engaging static and moving targets at speeds from Mach 10 to Mach 5.0.
The missile uses a two-stage solid propulsion system and flies at low altitudes, making it difficult to detect by enemy radars.
The DRDO tableau at Bharat Parv will display indigenous technologies for combat submarines, including the Integrated Combat Suite (ICS), Wire Guided Heavy Weight Torpedo (WGHWT), and Air Independent Propulsion.
The showcase aims to highlight India's indigenous defense capabilities and technological advancements in naval and submarine technologies.
