Government Warns X Over AI Misuse
The Indian government has told the social media platform X to quickly remove any bad or inappropriate content that is shared using AI.
This includes pictures or videos that are not nice, especially of women.
The government said that X must check and fix its AI feature called Grok, which people are misusing.
They also warned that if X does not follow the rules, there could be serious legal problems.
The government wants X to send a report about what they are doing to stop this bad content.
The Indian government has instructed X to remove obscene and sexually explicit content generated by AI.
MeitY issued a letter to X's Chief Compliance Officer, demanding a review of the Grok service.
Users are misusing AI to create fake profiles and share inappropriate content, particularly of women.
Failure to comply with the IT Act and IT Rules could result in severe legal consequences for X.
X was reminded of its mandatory adherence to the IT Act and IT Rules, 2021, with conditional exceptions under Section 79.
