Nellore District Museum Brings Centuries of History to Life

Nellore District Museum Brings Centuries of History to Life

The Nellore District Museum is a place where visitors can learn about the past.

It has objects from prehistoric times, when people hunted, gathered food and later began farming.

Visitors can see ancient clay figures, decorated pottery, coins and inscriptions.

The museum also displays old weapons and examples of metalworking.

Its bronze collection reflects artistic traditions connected with several South Indian dynasties.

Outside, there are stone sculptures made between the 9th and 18th centuries.

The museum was established in 1999 and opened in a new building in 2006.

Officials want more students to visit and learn about how people lived long ago.

It is open from 10 a.m.

to 5 p.m.

on most days, except Fridays and government holidays.
