Budgam and Nagrota Bypolls: Turnout Figures Released

Elections, called by-polls, took place in two areas of Jammu and Kashmir: Budgam and Nagrota.

People voted to choose new representatives for their local government.

In Budgam, about half of the eligible voters cast their ballots, while in Nagrota, a larger number, about three-quarters, came out to vote.

The election in Budgam happened because the Chief Minister decided to keep another position he won and left this one open.

The election in Nagrota was needed because the previous leader sadly passed away.

Both elections were carried out peacefully.

Special polling stations were also set up for voters from Budgam who live away from their constituency.
