IAS Officer Potom in Custody in Suicide Case
Talo Potom, an IAS officer, has been remanded to judicial custody following the suicide of a 19-year-old named Gomchu Yekar, who accused Potom of sexual exploitation.
Potom surrendered to the police and was arrested.
A note found at the scene implicated Potom and another official, Likwang Lowang, who also died by suspected suicide.
Protests demanding justice were held as Potom was taken to court.
Yekar's family alleges that Yekar was promised money, was blackmailed, and also contracted HIV.
Police are investigating the case, which includes allegations of coercion and harassment.
The family is seeking stringent criminal action.
