Telangana High Court Advances Welfare Appeal, Delays Other Cases

Telangana High Court Advances Welfare Appeal, Delays Other Cases

The Telangana High Court looked at several different legal cases.

One case involved government wedding-assistance schemes called Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak.

The court allowed the government’s appeal against a temporary order that had stopped parts of the schemes.

Another case involved a suspended trainee police officer who was asked to take a medical potency test.

The court told investigators not to insist on that test until the case is heard further.

The court also released former AIMIM leader Mohd.

Farooq Ahmed on bail while he waits for his appeal.

His appeal may take a long time because older appeals are being heard first.

In another case, the court refused to temporarily stop police from arresting Narla Sumanth, who is accused in an assault and extortion investigation.
