Maharashtra Extends Three-Language Policy Committee Deadline
The Maharashtra government has given the committee working on the three-language policy for schools more time to finish their report.
The committee, led by Dr. Narendra Jadhav, was supposed to submit the report by June 2025, but now they have until January 4, 2026.
The government said the committee needs more time to talk to people all over the state and gather their opinions.
The three-language policy is about what languages should be taught in schools.
The government wants to make sure they make the right decision, so they are giving the committee extra time to do their job properly.
Maharashtra's three-language policy committee, led by Dr. Narendra Jadhav, has been granted a one-month extension.
The new deadline for submitting the report is January 4, 2026.
The extension is due to the committee's need to collate public opinion and conduct stakeholder gatherings across the state.
The original deadline was set in June 2025 by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The extension was announced in a Government Resolution (GR) issued by the state's school education department.
