MP High Court Orders Police Officer to Plant Trees as Punishment
A police officer in Madhya Pradesh was punished for not doing his job in a case where a minor was being sexually abused.
The court decided the officer, Ravindra Dwivedi, should plant 1,000 fruit trees as punishment.
This is because he didn't follow the court's instructions.
He has to pay for the trees himself and plant them in a place called Chitrakoot.
He also needs to take pictures to prove he did it and look after the trees for a year.
This is to make sure people in charge are held accountable for their actions.
Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered a station in-charge to plant 1,000 fruit trees.
The punishment was for failing to serve a notice in a minor sexual abuse case.
Ravindra Dwivedi, SHO of Kotwali Police Station in Satna, was found guilty.
Trees must be planted in the Chitrakoot region between July 1 and August 31, 2025.
The SHO is responsible for expenses, photos, and caring for the trees for a year.
