Karnataka Approves Greater Bengaluru Governance Bill
The Karnataka Legislative Council has approved the Greater Bengaluru Governance Bill, 2025.
This bill makes some important changes to the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA).
The Chief Secretary and other important officials will now be part of the GBA.
Some members of Parliament and the Legislative Council who live in Bengaluru will also be included.
A BJP member asked if people who live in Bengaluru but vote in other places can vote in both places.
The government said no, because the GBA is a representative body, not an elected one.
This bill is a step towards better governance in Bengaluru.
