NCSC Seeks Arrest Action Over Remarks Against Buta Singh

A government commission is looking into comments allegedly made about former minister Buta Singh.

The comments were reportedly made during an election campaign in Punjab.

Buta Singh’s son, Sarabjot Singh Sidhu, filed a complaint.

Police registered a case under a law protecting Scheduled Castes and another law about promoting enmity.

The commission said the investigation and arrest process had taken too long.

It asked authorities to report within five days what action they had taken toward arresting the accused.

It also asked police to protect Sarabjot and his family because he reported receiving threats.

Warring says he did not insult anyone and that the complaint is being used for political reasons.
