GHMC Merges 20 Municipalities and 7 Corporations
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has recently merged 20 municipalities and 7 municipal corporations into its area.
This big change means that the GHMC now has more wards to manage.
The Uppal Zone, which looks after the eastern part of the city, has 24 wards spread across six circles.
The Malkajgiri Zone, covering the north and northeastern parts, has 26 wards in five circles.
The Shamshabad Zone has 12 wards, the LB Nagar Zone has 29 wards, and the Rajendranagar Zone has 10 wards.
Each circle has several smaller areas called wards, and the GHMC is now responsible for all of them.
