Monsoon Session Begins: Smaller Parties Lead in MP Attendance
The Monsoon Session of Parliament has started, and a report shows which MPs and parties had the best attendance in the last session.
Smaller parties did really well, with some having perfect attendance.
The Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) had 100% attendance in the Lok Sabha.
Bigger parties like BJP and Congress had lower attendance.
In the Rajya Sabha, regional parties also did better than the bigger national parties.
This shows that smaller parties are more consistent in attending Parliament sessions.
Smaller parties like RLP, RLD, and CPI(ML-L) recorded the highest average attendance in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
The BJP had an average attendance of 26.46 sittings per MP in Lok Sabha and 84.39% in Rajya Sabha.
The Congress had an average attendance of 23.13 sittings per MP in Lok Sabha and 80.66% in Rajya Sabha.
Regional parties dominated attendance in the Rajya Sabha, with parties like DMDK, J&K-NC, and BJD recording high attendance percentages.
Only 45.7% of Lok Sabha MPs and 46.6% of Rajya Sabha MPs attended between 90 and 100% of the sittings.
