Ellison Faces Costly Integration After Winning Warner Bros. Deal

David Ellison is close to combining Paramount and Warner Bros.

Discovery into one large entertainment company.

It is expected to be called Skydance.

The company will own many studios, TV networks and streaming services.

Putting two big businesses together will be difficult and expensive.

Paramount says it wants to save $6 billion each year within three years.

RedBird Capital’s Gerry Cardinale says most savings will not come from firing people.

The company has also promised to make at least 30 movies each year and spend more on domestic production.

Ellison is choosing leaders and deciding how the different parts of the business will work together.

He will need to balance saving money with making shows and films that audiences want.
