Supreme Court Rules Will Valid for Property Mutation Unless Disputed

The Supreme Court of India has ruled that a will can be used to change the ownership records of a property, unless someone challenges its validity.

This ruling came in a case where a man named Tarachandra wanted to change the ownership of a property based on a will left by Rodilal.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court had earlier said that a will couldn't be used for this purpose.

However, the Supreme Court disagreed and said that a will is a valid document for changing property ownership records, as long as no one disputes it.

The court also noted that there are many ways to acquire rights to a property, including through a will, and that the law doesn't prevent this.

The Supreme Court's decision overturned the High Court's ruling, allowing the property to be registered in Tarachandra's name based on the will.
