Satyendar Jain Granted Bail in Delhi Jal Board Case

Satyendar Jain Granted Bail in Delhi Jal Board Case

A Delhi court gave Satyendar Jain bail in a corruption case.

Jain is a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party and a former Delhi water minister.

The case involves a contract for improving sewage treatment plants.

The contract went to a company called Euroteck Environmental.

Investigators say the bidding rules were designed to favor that company.

They also say the Rohini plant’s planned capacity was doubled without a technical study, increasing costs by about ₹123 crore.

Jain must provide money and two guarantees while the case continues.

The judge also questioned why Jain was arrested after investigators had examined the case for a long time.
