Partition Horrors Remembrance Day Observed In Panvel; Survivors Share Memories

Long ago, before India became free, the country was split into two parts in an event called the Partition.

Many people had to leave their homes and suffered greatly.

Every year, India takes time to remember what happened.

The city of Panvel held a special event for this remembrance day.

Leaders like MLA Prashant Thakur and Mayor Nitin Patil told people to remember the pain of Partition even while celebrating freedom.

People whose families lived through Partition came and told their stories.

There was a play about Captain Vinayak Gore, a soldier who died in the Kargil War.

Everyone stayed quiet for two minutes to honour people who were hurt.

People also wrote their names on a special board and shone their phone torches.

The message was to stay united and keep the country strong.
