Pine Labs Shares Fall After Mixed Analyst Views
Pine Labs, a fintech company, saw its shares drop significantly after a brokerage firm, Emkay, started covering the stock with a 'reduce' rating.
Emkay thinks there's too much competition, the gift-card business isn't growing fast enough, and the stock is overpriced.
The shares are now trading much lower than when they first started being sold to the public.
However, another analyst, Motilal Oswal, has a more positive view, highlighting Pine Labs' strong value proposition and dominant position in certain segments.
Pine Labs shares fell over 10% after Emkay initiated coverage with a 'reduce' rating and a target price below the IPO price
Emkay cited increased competition, restricted gift-card business growth, and premium valuations as reasons for its bearish outlook
Pine Labs shares are trading 17% below their listing-day high
Emkay's target price of ₹210 implies a 13% decline from the stock's last close
Pine Labs IPO was subscribed 2.46 times and closed with a premium of over 14%
