Farmers Protest for Regular Agricultural Power Supply in Mahabubabad
Farmers in Mahabubabad protested because their farms were not receiving regular electricity.
They said power cuts were hurting their crops.
They also said changing voltage was damaging their equipment.
Some farmers asked an electricity officer for help by falling at his feet.
The officer, ADE Srinivas, spoke with them.
He promised that their problems would be examined and addressed.
He said many farmers turn on their motors at the same time when electricity returns.
This creates too much load and can make the power lines trip.
The farmers ended their protest after receiving his assurance.
Farmers protested outside the Ellampet substation in Maripeda mandal, Mahabubabad district, on Friday.
They demanded uninterrupted electricity for agricultural purposes, citing frequent outages and voltage fluctuations.
Farmers said power interruptions were causing crops to wither and voltage fluctuations were damaging electrical equipment.
