MRPL Withdraws Export Tenders After Fatal CHTU Fire

A fire happened at MRPL’s Coker Hydrotreater Unit on September 30.

The fire started after a high-pressure Cold Separator ruptured.

Emergency teams stopped the fire within a few hours.

One person died, and 12 people were injured.

MRPL temporarily stopped and withdrew some export tenders because operations might be disrupted.

The company said the decision did not materially affect its commercial operations.

The export tender is expected to be issued again after the situation is reviewed.

MRPL also announced financial support for the family of the employee who died.
