Fujiyama commissions Rs 300 cr solar cell project in UP
Fujiyama Power Systems has opened a new factory in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, to make solar cells.
These cells are used to make solar panels.
The factory cost Rs 300 crore to build and can make 1 gigawatt of solar cells.
The company already makes solar panels and will use these new cells in their own panels.
This helps them make their own parts instead of buying them from other countries.
The government wants companies to do this to make India stronger in solar energy.
The factory was built in just six months and will make special solar cells that help companies get government support.
Fujiyama Power Systems commissioned a 1 GW solar cell plant in Dadri, UP, with a Rs 300 crore investment.
The plant will produce mono PERC DCR series solar cells for captive consumption in their 1.6 GW solar panel manufacturing operations.
The project was completed in six months and is funded through internal accruals and debt.
The move aims to strengthen in-house manufacturing capabilities and reduce reliance on imported solar cells.
The government's DCR norms encourage the use of domestically manufactured solar components to promote local industry.
