J&K L-G: Partition Wounds Unhealed, Youth Must Build Trust

J&K L-G: Partition Wounds Unhealed, Youth Must Build Trust

On Friday, a very important leader named Manoj Sinha gave a speech.

He is the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, a region in India.

He spoke at a special event called Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.

The Partition happened in 1947, when a huge country was split into new countries.

Many families were torn apart, people lost their homes, and some trains arrived carrying people who had died.

Mr. Sinha said the sadness from that time can still be felt almost eighty years later.

He said people who moved to Jammu and Kashmir worked hard and helped build their communities.

He explained that some of those people, like those displaced from Pakistan-occupied areas, were treated unfairly for many years.

He believes new rules made after August 2019 helped give them equal rights.

He asked everyone, especially young people, to remember the past and work for peace and unity.
