Pakistan Jails Ex-Spy Chief for 14 Years
A former spy chief in Pakistan named Faiz Hameed was sentenced to 14 years in jail.
He was found guilty of four serious charges, including interfering in politics and breaking laws that protect the country's secrets.
Hameed was the head of Pakistan's powerful intelligence agency from 2019 to 2021.
He was close friends with a former prime minister named Imran Khan, who is also in jail.
The military court said Hameed did things that were harmful to the country and misused his power.
He can appeal his sentence.
This is a rare case where a high-ranking military official has been punished in Pakistan, where the military has a lot of influence.
Some people believe the charges are politically motivated, while others think Hameed's actions were against military rules.
Faiz Hameed, former ISI chief, sentenced to 14 years in jail.
Charges include interference in politics and violating the Official Secret Act.
Hameed was close to jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Conviction followed lengthy legal proceedings with a right to appeal.
