Shreyas Iyer Nears Comeback After Injury
Shreyas Iyer, an Indian cricketer, got hurt badly in his tummy and ribs while playing against Australia.
He had to stay in the hospital for a long time.
Now, he's feeling much better and has started batting again.
Doctors are checking him for a few days to see if he can play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
He might also be able to play in the next ODI series against New Zealand, but we're not sure yet.
Shreyas Iyer suffered a broken rib and ruptured spleen during an ODI against Australia in October 2023.
He has resumed batting and is undergoing a 4-6 day assessment at the BCCI CoE in Bengaluru.
Iyer is aiming to return for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, with final timelines to be confirmed.
He has resumed regular gym and fitness routines, with no red flags in post-injury assessments.
His participation in the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand remains uncertain.
