Modi, Pezeshkian Discuss West Asia Peace at SCO Summit

Narendra Modi met Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian in Kyrgyzstan.

This was their first face-to-face meeting since fighting involving Iran, the United States, and Israel began, according to the reports.

They talked about the dangerous situation in West Asia.

Modi said disagreements should be solved through talks instead of more fighting.

He also said ships, sailors, civilians, and trade routes should be protected.

The leaders discussed improving friendship and trade between India and Iran.

The reports said they did not specifically discuss the Chabahar port.

Modi invited Pezeshkian to visit India for the BRICS Summit.

The meeting happened while reports described attacks and continuing tensions in the region.
