CRPF Chief Assures Responsibility Amid Pellet Gun Row
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is a big police group in India.
Its boss, Gyanedra Pratap Singh, told his soldiers that they should do their jobs bravely.
He said he would take responsibility for what they do, especially after a protest in Delhi where a special unit used pellet guns on people.
The CRPF will look closely at what happened to see if the rules were followed.
This helps keep everyone honest and safe.
CRPF Director General Gyanedra Pratap Singh told personnel to act fearlessly and assured he would take responsibility for their actions amid scrutiny over RAF pellet gun use.
The statement was delivered at a CRPF investiture ceremony following the July 20 anti‑NEET protest in Delhi where RAF used pellet guns and other crowd‑control weapons.
CRPF has announced a “professional post‑event assessment” to review the RAF’s conduct and determine if it complied with standard operating procedures.
The assessment will reconstruct the sequence of events, examine the use of pellet weapons, and produce a report for force headquarters.
CRPF has previously praised its personnel’s endurance and said any decisions made were in the nation’s interest.
