Iran Speaker Warns US Over Strait of Hormuz Security

Iran’s parliament speaker warned the United States not to threaten Iran’s security.

He said Iran could stop others from selling oil in the region if Iran was prevented from selling its own oil.

He also warned that Iran would respond quickly and forcefully to any attack.

Ghalibaf compared today’s pressure with the past siege of Abadan during the Iran-Iraq War.

He said planning and resistance helped break that siege.

The United States and Iran are also discussing a possible agreement through mediators.

A US official said sanctions relief could be offered if Iran makes clear progress on nuclear issues.

President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s latest proposal about reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump said more talks could take place during the week.
