Government Conducts 4.85 Lakh Raids on Fertilizer Black Marketing
In 2025, the Indian government conducted nearly 4.85 lakh raids across the country to stop black marketing and hoarding of fertilizers.
These raids led to over 17,000 show-cause notices and the suspension or cancellation of nearly 7,000 licenses.
The government also registered 847 FIRs.
The raids were part of a broader effort to ensure that farmers have enough fertilizers at affordable prices.
The government tracks fertilizer supplies using the Integrated Fertilizer Management System (iFMS) and works with state governments to plan and distribute fertilizers.
Subsidy schemes like the Urea Subsidy Scheme and the Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) Scheme help keep fertilizer prices low for farmers.
The government also ensures the availability of safe and quality pesticides through regular inspections and evaluations.
Nearly 4.85 lakh raids conducted in 2025 against black marketing and hoarding of fertilizers.
Resulted in 17,392 show-cause notices and suspension or cancellation of 6,941 licenses.
847 FIRs registered as part of the government's comprehensive mechanism to ensure fertilizer supplies.
Urea and DAP availability exceeded requirements during FY 2025-26.
Government uses iFMS to track fertilizer supplies and works with state governments for distribution.
