Vibe Delivers Plenty Of Laughs, But Its Spy Plot Wobbles
Vibe is a movie about two regular men who are asked to help with a dangerous spy mission.
Hardik works in marketing and Bugs works with technology.
They are trained to act like agents in only four days.
The movie makes many jokes about spying, national security and Bollywood super-agents.
It is often very funny because the actors have good comic timing.
However, many parts of the story do not make much sense.
The movie visits places such as Lahore and Istanbul and includes action scenes.
In the end, the comedy works better than the serious spy story.
Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe follows two ordinary friends recruited for a national-security operation.
The film’s comedy, especially its timing and absurd situations, is its strongest element.
Hardik and Bugs receive rushed training before being sent into action with unusual pills.
The story includes terrorism, espionage and international locations but relies on several implausible developments.
Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava and supporting actors contribute to the film’s heightened comic tone.
- Who
- Kunal Kemmu’s Hardik and Sparsh Shrivastava’s Bugs are recruited by Preity Zinta’s mysterious Madam H.
- What
- The film follows two inexperienced men involved in a national-security and espionage operation.
- Where
- The story includes Lahore, Istanbul and an unnamed Middle Eastern setting.
- Why
- They are brought into the operation because the national-security machinery needs them for the mission.

Comedy Works

Story Falls Short
The storyline and logic are weakened by convenient developments and implausible action.
Genre balance
Comedy Works
The exaggerated spy setting and references to Pathaan and Tiger create a playful parody of Bollywood spy films.
Story Falls Short
The combination of terrorism, national emergency and crude jokes creates an uneven tonal mix.
Action and spectacle
Comedy Works
The film’s commitment to nonsense, including its unusual action sequences, adds to its comic appeal.
Story Falls Short
Some action scenes feel experimental rather than polished, and moments such as a bike trying to stop an aeroplane strain credibility.
