Chhattisgarh High Court Rules on Modesty Case
A man in Chhattisgarh was in trouble for holding a woman's hand, pulling her, and saying 'I love you'.
The court said this was not okay and hurt the woman's feelings.
At first, he was sentenced to three years in jail, but the higher court changed it to one year.
The court also said that the man did not do anything else wrong, but his actions were still not right.
The man has to go to jail now to finish his sentence.
The court also said that the woman was not a child, so some of the charges were not right.
A 19-year-old man was convicted for holding a woman's hand, pulling her, and saying 'I love you'.
The Chhattisgarh High Court upheld the conviction under Section 354 of the IPC for outraging modesty.
The original three-year sentence was reduced to one year by the High Court.
The conviction under the POCSO Act was set aside as the victim's age was not proven.
The accused is on bail and must surrender to serve the remaining sentence.
