Maharashtra Launches Career Path Portal for Students
Imagine a website to help students figure out what they want to do after school!
The Maharashtra education department created a special section on their website for First Year Junior College (FYJC) admissions.
This new section, called Career Path, has information on lots of jobs, like being a chocolatier or a cricket umpire, and courses you can take to learn those jobs.
It's especially helpful for kids in the countryside who might not know about all the different jobs out there.
Some people were worried about a delay in tests to help students find out what they are good at, but the education department says these tests are optional and should be done by the end of May.
Maharashtra's education department launches a career path section on the FYJC admission portal.
The portal offers information on over 155 careers and skill-based courses.
The initiative aims to provide reliable information, especially for students in rural areas.
Educationists criticized the delay in conducting aptitude tests for Std X and XII students.
Officials from SCERT said the aptitude tests are voluntary and should be completed by the end of May.
