Congress Launches 84-Day Bharat Jodo 2.0 March in Karnataka
The Congress party in Karnataka has started a long walking campaign called Bharat Jodo 2.0.
It began in Shikaripura, a place represented by BJP leader B.Y. Vijayendra.
The campaign will visit 84 areas where Congress lost elections in 2023.
It is planned to last 84 days and pass through 29 districts.
Party leaders will walk through towns and villages and meet local residents.
They want to learn about people’s problems and make the party stronger.
The first day included a walk of about 10 kilometres.
Another part of the campaign is expected to start on October 4 or 5.
The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee launched its Bharat Jodo 2.0 padyatra from Shikaripura in Shivamogga district.
The 84-day programme will cover 84 Assembly constituencies across 29 districts where Congress lost in the 2023 Karnataka elections.
KPCC president B.K. Hariprasad is leading the campaign, which aims to strengthen the party’s organisation and grassroots presence.
The first day’s route covered about 10 kilometres through Kittadahalli, Mattikote, Hosanagar Cross and Nelavagilu toward Shikaripura town.
The next phase is expected to begin on October 4 or 5, while the launch drew attention because Shikaripura is represented by B.Y. Vijayendra of the BJP.
