Raigad Schoolgirls' Viral Pothole Video Forces Swift Road Repairs
Three schoolgirls in Maharashtra were upset because the road they used to reach their school was full of potholes — big holes that make walking and driving bumpy.
They made a funny pretend-news video about the bad road.
One girl acted like a TV news reporter, another answered her questions, and a third filmed everything on a mobile phone.
They even used a folded umbrella like the big fuzzy microphones real news reporters use.
The video became very popular on the internet after it was shared on social media.
A local leader named Mahendra Thorve saw the video and decided to help.
Workers filled the potholes almost overnight as a temporary fix.
The leader said heavy rain had washed away part of the road.
He promised the road will be made 'as good as new' once the monsoon rainy season ends.
Three schoolgirls in Maharashtra's Raigad district made a mock news-style video about the pothole-filled Khandpe-Kondiwade road in Karjat tehsil.
In the video, 'reporter' Neha Ghare interviewed a friend while classmate Mansi Pawar recorded on a mobile phone, using a folded umbrella as a 'boom'.
The video quickly went viral on social media, drawing overwhelming public attention to the road's poor condition.
Local Shiv Sena legislator Mahendra Thorve responded by initiating temporary measures, filling the potholes almost overnight.
Thorve said part of the road was washed away by heavy rain and that it will be made 'as good as new' after the monsoon ends.
