Delhi Court Custody for Man Wanted in Maryland Murder
A Delhi court has placed Arjun Sharma in custody.
Authorities in the United States want him over the alleged killing of Nikitha Godishala.
Police say Nikitha was stabbed in Maryland around New Year’s Eve 2025.
They allege that her body was later found inside a suitcase at Sharma’s apartment.
Police also say Sharma went to India after the alleged killing.
The United States has requested his extradition, which means asking India to send him there for legal proceedings.
Sharma faces murder and assault charges in Maryland.
Nikitha’s father alleges that a disagreement about money was connected to the killing.
The court was also told that Sharma is a suspect in a separate Hyderabad case.
Arjun Sharma was taken into Delhi court custody after non-bailable warrants were executed in connection with an alleged Maryland murder.
US authorities allege Sharma stabbed his former girlfriend, 27-year-old Nikitha Godishala, and later fled to India.
Godishala’s body was allegedly found in a suitcase inside a closet at Sharma’s Maryland apartment.
Sharma faces two murder and two assault counts in Howard County, with India processing an extradition request under the India–United States Extradition Treaty.
The Central Bureau of Investigation told the court that Sharma is also a suspect in a separate FIR registered at Lallaguda Police Station in Hyderabad.
