AAP alleges migrant voters intentionally removed from Delhi electoral rolls

Delhi checked its voter list by asking people to fill out forms.

The checking happened from June 30 to August 17.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjeev Jha says many migrants from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh were removed from the list.

He says some people were marked as absent or shifted even though they may still live there.

The Election Commission’s officials said 97.47 lakh of Delhi’s 1.45 crore voters submitted the forms.

More than 47 lakh voters could be left out because they did not submit forms or were marked absent, shifted, dead, or duplicate.

AAP says the process may stop many people from voting and wants more checking in affected areas.

People who were left out can submit Form 6 between August 24 and September 23.
