SR-71 Blackbird Return Remains Unconfirmed Despite NASA's Ambitious Speed Plans

The SR-71 Blackbird was a very fast airplane used for spying.

One of the planes displayed at a NASA center is no longer visible in its usual place.

Some reports say it was moved inside a hangar for inspection.

NASA leader Jared Isaacman recently showed a new airplane design that looked somewhat like the SR-71.

This made people wonder whether NASA might fly the old plane again.

Former engineers say that would be very hard after almost 27 years without flying.

Its engines, special fluids, tools, and replacement parts may no longer be ready.

NASA has not confirmed that the plane will return to the skies.
