NAPA Calls for Fair Review of Reported U.S. Visa Revocations

NAPA Calls for Fair Review of Reported U.S. Visa Revocations

A group representing Punjabi people is worried about a reported U.S. visa policy.

The policy could affect some people who entered the United States on visitor visas and later asked for asylum.

Visitor visas include B1 visas for business and B2 visas for tourism, family visits or medical travel.

Reports say as many as 200,000 visas might be reviewed or revoked, but that number is not final.

The group says each person’s situation should be examined separately.

It believes a person may have entered honestly and later faced circumstances that led them to seek asylum.

The group also says losing a visa should not automatically mean being deported.

It wants the government to explain the process and urges immigrants to keep documents and seek legal advice when needed.
