Kandla Port Plans ₹3500 Cr E-Methanol Project
Kandla port in India wants to become a place where ships can refuel with a special type of clean fuel called e-methanol.
They plan to build a big factory for this, costing about 3500 crore rupees.
This e-methanol is made by combining hydrogen and carbon dioxide.
This fuel will be used by ships going between Europe and Singapore, to cut down pollution.
The port also plans a project to make biomethanol from waste materials, which can be mixed with regular fuel to power the port's own boats.
Kandla port plans a ₹3500 crore e-methanol project to become a bunkering hub.
The project aims to supply e-methanol to ships traveling between Rotterdam and Singapore.
E-methanol is a synthetic fuel made from green hydrogen and captured carbon dioxide.
The port is also planning a biomethanol project for port crafts.
These projects aim to reduce emissions in shipping.
