China Signals Long-Term India Ties Ahead of Modi-Xi Meeting

China and India may hold a meeting between their leaders in New Delhi.

Chinese officials said they want to keep a long-term relationship with India.

They also said the two countries should communicate more and cooperate.

At the same time, they acknowledged that the countries have disagreements, including border tensions.

Relations became worse after a clash in Galwan in 2020.

The proposed meeting would happen during a larger BRICS gathering.

China also said BRICS countries should use talks to help solve conflicts.

President Xi Jinping is expected to attend and speak at the summit.
