BKS President Defends Ethanol Use
K Sai Reddy, the leader of a big farmers' group called BKS, said that people are spreading wrong information about ethanol.
He explained that ethanol is good for farmers because it helps them earn more money, reduces the need for foreign oil, and helps the environment.
He also said that if cars have problems, it's not ethanol's fault, and the car companies should fix them.
He met with the chief minister and asked for a sugar factory to be given to farmers instead of private companies.
He also wants the government to buy all the moong (a type of bean) that farmers grow and make sure farmers have enough electricity and fertilizer.
BKS President K Sai Reddy accused misinformation campaigns against ethanol use in India.
Ethanol benefits farmers by increasing their income and reducing foreign oil dependence.
Ethanol-blended petrol has been used in India for the past five years.
Reddy demanded the handover of Kailaras Sugar Mills to farmers and the establishment of 20 new sugar factories in Madhya Pradesh.
BKS called for 100% procurement of moong at MSP, a sugarcane policy, and 24-hour power supply for agriculture.
